When my husband and I moved to Atlanta in 2001, I needed so many window treatments in our new house. I wasn't comfortable with sewing yet so I had our family room valances custom made. Boy was I in for a shock on labor charges. They looked great but I realized I could try to make the rest of our window treatments that we needed. I found some great patterns and realized how much I enjoyed sewing. Friends, neighbors, family and my husband talked me into sewing for others so I took the plunge and I went to drapery school in Charlotte, NC. I quit my job in 2008 and converted half of the basement to a sewing workroom. My husband made me a great worktable that I can make drapery panels.
My mom had started quilting back in 2004 and I didn't catch the "quilting bug" until 2007. I took a beginner quilt class and fell in love with quilting. I hope you enjoy following me along at "Spin the Bobbin" on this fun adventure I'm having. 2012 is my year for quilting bees and I hope to join a few swaps.
Happy Quilting!
Cindy
