Bloggers' Quilt Festival

Amy'sCreativeSide

I'm excited to be blogging about my first and only king size quilt that I made back in 2008 that I haven't shown before.

Most of the Fabric:  Laurel by Sentimental Studios for Moda

While attending the Atlanta Shop Hop in 2008 with my mom, I noticed a beautiful quilt hanging in the center of a cute quilt shop in Marietta.   I found below it some kits to make the same queen size quilt exactly like what was hanging.  I just knew I had to buy it but also remembered that I had 11 additional quilt stores to go to during our 2 day quilting adventure.  All I could think about was this quilt and that I had to buy it.  Luckily for me, I ended up going back and buying the last kit plus additional fat quarters to make it a king size quilt.

When I started out with this quilt, it was going to be our main quilt for our master bedroom.  Today, it sits on the end of our bed on top of a coverlet.  Even though my tastes of fabric and colors have changed since 2008, I still love my quilt.

I'm linking up over at Amy's Creative Side for Bloggers' Quilt Festival  - Fall 2011.  Come check out the 470+ submitted quilts.   Thanks Amy!!

  1. That is a great quilt - I love the Autumn feel! Well done on making a king size!! I laughed when you said it was the only one - not sure I'm brave enough to tackle such a big one!
