I can't believe it has been a year since I decided to start blogging. I had been following Sarah over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict and signed up for her Hands 2 Help 2011 Challenge. I didn't have to have a blog to join her H2H challenge but if I did, I'd have more chances to win prizes and I could then blog about the quilt that I donated. So I took the plunge and started my blog.
It has been fun making blogging friends and following all of them as they are so creative and I get so much inspiration. Last July, I was in California and I met up with blog friend Di at the International Quilt Festival in Long Beach. Di and I then saw each other at the Sewing Summit last October and we both met so many quilt/sewing/craft bloggers that we followed and started following.
Also in this last year, I've joined 3 different quilting bees. If I hadn't started this blog, I really don't think that I would have joined a bee. I'm learning so many new techniqes with these bees and have met some great bee-mates from all over the world!
So to celebrate my one year, I have a giveaway! Kathy from Pink Chalk Fabrics is generously donating this wonderful Charming Solids pack and she will mail out the gift to the lucky winner!
I joined the Charming Solids club at Pink Chalk Fabrics and once a month I get a surprise package in the mail which includes 2 charm packs and 6 fat eighths that coordinate with the charm packs. I don't know about you, but I love to collect charm packs. They are great to have in my stash as I can make a quick gift like a baby quilt, table runner, etc.
So to enter to win:
First entry: Leave a comment below and let me know what you like to collect to have in your fabric stash for quick gifts.
Second entry: Become a follower and comment that you are
If you are a no-reply blogger, please leave an email in your comment so that I can contact you if you win.
Giveaway will end on Wednesday, April 18th and random.org will pick a winner.
Good luck!
Cindy

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Cindy. I am happy to have met you and learned along with you all that we have learned this passed year. My favorite thing to collect is text print fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI sm a followerer, I think one of your first ones.
ReplyDeleteI love to collect scraps!!! I would usually make a cute pouch for a fast gift, so scraps are certainly my friends (I just need more friends - ha ha!!). Congrats on the one-year mark and thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am a happy follower of your blog :-)
ReplyDeleteI love to have charm packs on hand in order to whip up quick quilts. Maybe I should join the Charming Solids club!
ReplyDeleteCurrently I'm amassing WAY.Too.MANY. charm squares - either in charm packs or from swaps - most of which I'm turning into four-patch squares for quick quilts. I'll probably keep some and sell others, depending on how happy I am with the results. Congratulations on a year of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI'm a brand new follower. Thanks for the chances!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower, Thanks for the opportunity! Happy Anniversary!

I am currently collecting charm squares from too many swaps. I am (hopefully) going to turn them into Patchwork Chevron quilts for my kids to take to school for nap time.

It's a toss up between charm packs for quilts/table toppers, and fat quarters for pouches.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower of your blog. Thanks for the opportunity and Happy Anniversary. Mine will be coming up next week. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteI love charm pack and especially Kate Spain's! They're a great way of collecting the whole fabric line and it's easy to whip up a simple quilt with them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a year! I tend to keep a stash of fat quarters just in case.
ReplyDeleteCindy, I have loved getting to know you! Happy Anniversary :-)
ReplyDeleteSo, I love to keep on hand lots of fabrics that only have 2 colors in them, white being one of them. They're just too easy to mix into whatever you need.
I'm a follower :-)
ReplyDeleteI like to have anything with Texas wilflowers in my stash to make either a tablerunner or cute potholders as gifts! It seems that most of my friends are from Texas or have lived here at one time (we are military and we move and so do our friends), and appreciate the beautiful Bluebonnets and other flowers we get here in the spring! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower! Glad to have found your blog via The One Stop Shop!
ReplyDeleteCharm packs are an excellent start to a quick gift quilt. They let me have a lot of scrappy coordination without having to purchase a lot of yardage.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary; new follower; thanks! (marshudson at comcast dot net)
ReplyDeleteCharm packs are quick and easy, obviously; but also like to keep a lot of "basics" in the stash, love dots especially. Thanks for chance! (marshudson at comcast dot net)
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! Congrats on your 1st year of blogging! I just started blogging in October, and I am loving all of the inspiration and wonderful people that I am meeting and following.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I really don't have much of a stash since I'm fairly new to quilting with my own machine and quilting area where I actually have space for fabric. But I have started collecting some scraps and I would love to have some pre-cut bundles to add to it! Thanks for the giveaway!! Fingers crossed! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first blogging anniversary! I like to collect both charm packs and FQs. Thanks for the chance.

1 year - that's awesome! Congrats! Thanks for the chance to win such yummy fabric! I have been collecting fabrics that I LOVE for my stash and a scrap swap at our guild helped get a few different fabrics in my collection.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love collecting scraps (random I know!)

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to know I was a good influence at least once in my life!!! Congratulations on a year of blogging, and here's to many more!! I love accumulating orphan blocks in my stash - it's always fun to take them and turn them into a quick quilt!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a follower - I think from the beginning!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogaversary! I would love to join some bees--but I am still a little nervous about my skills for others! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI also became a follower. I am going to have to go check out that charming solids monthly club. Oops! I forgot to mention what I like to collect--just about anything! LOL Seriously, I seem to be a fat quarter collector. I just collect all different colors I enjoy and then usually find something that goes together!
ReplyDeleteI just recently joined a couple of bees and it's fun. I have a tendency to collect larger pieces of fabric (my local fabric store has a great remnant bin which usually have 1 meter pieces) but am now finding that takes up way too much space so charm packs would be much better ideas because I do like having a larger variety of prints.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteGood Fortune is so pretty and relaxing to look at.
ReplyDeleteI like to have any kind of precut...charms, jelly rolls, or layer cakes to put something together fast, but charms are probably my favorite.
Thanks for the chance!
I love charm packs because they are perfect for baby quilts :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance !
Any of the pre-cuts work well for gifts.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on one year of blogging! Glad I found you! Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a lovely charm pack. I don't stash fabrics as instead buy over time as can afford it for a specific bed quilt. Isn't Pink Chalk the nicest online quilt shop! Congratulations on your achievements as a blogger (I'm blogless).
ReplyDeleteIn my fabric stash, I have mostly charm squares and FQs. I am a new follower.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the one year!! I guess I have mostly fat quarters, but I'm really a fan of layer cakes, even though I don't have any!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogging anniversary. Thanks for the chance to enter your celebratory giveaway. Now, I'm off to check out your blog some more.
ReplyDeleteI like to have blues & pinks for quick baby quilts. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower! Thanks for the giveaway chance!
ReplyDeleteHmmm - my comment isn't displaying. Here goes again. I buy fabric for specific projects, not stash. Pink Chalk is one of my favorite online shops. The precut that I use most: fat quarters for the wide range of fabrics. One day I want to sew with some charm packs. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on one year!! I love your story of why and how you began blogging because I often find myself thinking those same things.. I am lucky enough to have started a sewing group just over a year ago and we help inspire each other--I love that blogging has opened these doors for you too and who knows where the next year will take you!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower too :)
ReplyDeleteI love to have charm packs in my stash because I can make a quick quilt with those, especially when I am short on time!

ReplyDeleteI don't know that I have a specific fabric piece that I collect - I just love fabric in all shapes & sizes! I have bought a lot! of FQs though....
ReplyDeletethanks!
I like to keep practice pieces of my FMQ sandwiches so I can cut them up and make gifts on quick notice. I don't have that many charm packs, so winning would be great! Thanks for the giveaway & congrats on the 1-year Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI am also a follower!
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! Congrats on your year of blogging. I have met some great folks since we all joined Sarah last year. I have been following you since you started! I need to collect more boy themed fabrics in any size!
ReplyDeleteCharm packs. With a little yardage they make something cute.
ReplyDeleteNew follower
ReplyDeleteWell, some of my fabric stash is over twenty years old, so I'd say I like to keep some of the old stuff around to mix with the new. Nothing beats charmpacks for fast though. And a little constantly updated pile of braids, pompoms and ribbons doesn't hurt for adding a person touch.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on one year! I'm a folower!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!!! I like to always have lots of polka dot fabrics in my stash. They co-ordinate so well with other fabrics. Following via GFC. Congrats on blogging for one year!!!
ReplyDeleteFollowing via GFC...
ReplyDeleteLove charm packs and fat quarters. Charm packs offer so many possibilities!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you on reaching a milestone!
I love to have fat quarters on hand, and also solid neutrals in heavier fabrics - for a quick gift I'd more often make a bag or a set of potholders than a quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Cindy! I am a happy follower!
ReplyDeleteI love to collect FQs since they have a great size for purses and pouches which I love to give away!
ReplyDeletei am a follower
ReplyDeletei love to make baby blankets for people
ReplyDeleteI'm not a quick gift person, or at least not when it comes to sewing. I only did that once. Made an apron overnight on Christmas Eve with no pattern. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI've subscribed and follow you via Google Reader with RSS. :)
ReplyDeletePot holders are a great quick gift. I like to have a nice variety of fabrics on hand to choose from, so that I can coordinate the fabrics with the recipients kitchen colors. :-) Thanks so much for the chance to win! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower on GFC. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like to collect charm packs too. I love any fabric and will buy anything on a whim that I think I can make something cute with for a quick gift

ReplyDeleteCongrats on one year - terrific! I am a happy regular follower.
ReplyDeleteThank you for such an amazing giveway!
ReplyDeleteI love to have two or three matching FQ's for little bags/makeup pouches/cellphone covers around =)
I have a weakness for picking up bags of scraps at thrift stores and garage sales. I've found some nifty prints and decent-sized pieces of fabric on occasion.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1 year of blogging!
ReplyDeleteI like to have basics in my stash. Simple geometric prints or solids that I can add to any project.
I'm a follower of course!!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! I love having charm oacks on hand...
ReplyDeleteI don't collect things for 'maybe' uses so much - if I like the fabric, it comes to live with me in a minimum-cut quantity, and goes to live in a project as needed. I try & keep the amount of solids enough to work with most colour palettes.
ReplyDeleteI like blenders and what you have pictured thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am now a follower.
ReplyDeleteI make pincushions and potholders to keep on hand for a quick gift. Like you, I enjoy all the inspiration from the blog world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win your giveaway and congrats on your anniversary!
