If its a non-family exchange I would normally go with something purchased. I typically make up a little food basket with something that can be used in holiday cooking or appetizers - crackers, jams, dip mix, etc. Thanks for the chance to win these awesome charm packs!!
ReplyDeleteIt's lame but I love to give candles. Nice ones that smell great and look pretty. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteNo non-holiday exchange unfortunately. If I was it would be handmade and probably in the form of something sweet.
ReplyDeleteIn my holiday exchange, we are sending a book and an ornament, plus a snack. So, I am making homemade caramel corn.
ReplyDeleteI make homemade liquors so my secret santa usually gets homemade amaretto, bitters, or if they're alcohol-free, soda syrups (indeed, I've had a mother request more of the rhubarb soda syrup I gave her kid-not sure if it was for her or because it was more natural than anything you buy but I'm glad it was a success).
ReplyDeleteCoffee or tea depending on the recipient, can't really go too wrong with that, a nice mug to drink it from is also a go to! Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteCoffee or tea, or a quilted pillow-thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe are involved in a gift exchange at work. We drew names of a co-worker at a particular age (under 12 I think) and we are to buy a toy that we think that person would like. We will then donate all the toys to a toy drive.
ReplyDeleteGenerally, I would buy something and save the handmade for family who appreciate it more.
I love to give handmade jewelry (made by me) or table runners.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Oh! I love all three of those charms! I typically only do handmade gifts for the most special people in my life. Otherwise, I try to buy thoughtful gifts for everyone else.

ReplyDeleteFor non-family, a mix. As others have said, something like a gift card but in a homemade sleeve. I figure that since they're not related to me they shouldn't have to put up with complete randomness, which is what some of my completely homemade stuff tends to be. :)
ReplyDeleteI like doing a combo by making a nice bag to wrap a store bought gift in. That way there's less waste from wrapping paper.
ReplyDeleteI make lots of candies with a friend so lots of teachers, friends and whoever else I can find gets a box of homemade chocolates.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been in a non-relative gift exchange in a long time-college I guess! Anyway, if it was someone I knew fairly well I'd bake them something. And I love fabric coasters and they are easy and quick and cheap, so I'd maybe throw in some of those. Like maybe a mini loaf of homemade cranberry bread, 4 matching fabric coasters, a dollar store mug, and some packs of cocoa and cider!
